FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
DOE RUN NAMES MACKEY ASSISTANT CONTROLLER
ST. LOUIS (Dec.1, 2008) – The Doe Run Company has named Greg Mackey its assistant controller. For the last three years, Mackey has been accounting manager for the corporate office for Doe Run, a global leader in lead production and recycling.
Mackey’s expanded duties include managing the general ledger business process; assisting Gary Mard, corporate controller and treasurer, with internal financial controls, statements and analysis; and standardizing accounting procedures throughout Doe Run.
“Greg brings to this position strong accounting and communication skills, which are essential for success in managing our financial procedures,” said Mard. “Greg’s promotion also speaks to our dedication to the goal of developing our leadership from within Doe Run, which is a hallmark of a healthy and vibrant organization.”
“I am excited about this opportunity to make a greater contribution to the Doe Run team,” said Mackey. “My goal is to continue to build trust and foster an environment of teamwork and I look forward to strengthening Doe Run’s internal controls while continuing to find ways to improve our accounting processes.”
Prior to joining Doe Run, Mackey worked for Save-A-Lot Food Stores in St. Louis, most recently as its wholesale controller. He helped supervise a transition to an automated invoice matching process that significantly streamlined costs for Save-A-Lot.
